Land Registry Integration - Bankruptcy Search
The Bankruptcy Search option implements the Land Registry Bankruptcy Search (K16) through integration with Redbrick. Each user must have their Land Registry login details entered in Redbrick, either in their user setup area by an Administrator within your firm, or, in Version 28 and above, within the 'My Account' area at the top left of the screen under the Land Registry section.
A Bankruptcy Search, like all Land Registry searches, can be performed in two ways:
1. From the Land Registry menu
2. If your Administrator has set this up as a triggered action attached to a task, you can perform the search by ticking off the task. The task wording may vary depending on your firm’s configuration, but note the mini Land Registry icons to the left of the task wording. Multiple icons indicate that more than one type of Land Registry search has been set up
Running the option via the drop down or ticking a task will usually display the bankruptcy search form. This will list all the clients and any other individuals on the matter and allow the user to select the person(s) they wish to perform the search against. Once all are selected, click OK.
Where a matter has only one individual on the client record and no other individuals added (such as giftors or sellers), the above window will not be displayed. This is because there is only one possible person to run a check against, so the question does not need to be asked.
In Redbrick Version 28 and above, the following message will appear:
If you have any doubt that the request hasn't been raised, please do not repeat the process. You should Edit the Matter, access the Land Registry area within the window and check to see if your bankruptcy search shows in there. This is to avoid getting multiple results and invoices from the Land Registry - the status will be relevant and would usually say 'Submitted' if it has not yet been returned to you:
On a successful response, the system will alert the user with a notification which will appear at the bottom of their screen.
When actioned, the system will add the returned PDF to the Document screen of the matter and display it to the user.
