By standard Redbrick comes with various Case Statuses available in each Matter type. These are used primarily to keep track of the current status of a matter.
Depending on your firm's settings, you will either be locked into creating all new matters with the Quote status, or be able to Activate the matter immediately (which is the Active status).
The statuses are coloured coded to differentiate between the main types of status.
Yellow is for Quote
Green is for Active
Red is for Cancelled
Green with a tick inside is for Archived.
By default the available statuses are typically as follows:-
You can change the status manually at any point by entering the Edit Matter screen and making a Status selection in the General panel, as demonstrated above.
If you have 'Pre-Activation' tasks set these will prevent a matter from being changed from Quote status to Active status without the relevant tasks first being completed
Although it is possible to manually change the status, typically the changing of a status will be driven by it being a trigger on a task. Ticking the task then automatically changes the status to the one attached to it. If you have the Trigger Type column in your progress screen you will be able to see which tasks change status by the circular status symbol.
Administrators can create bespoke Case Statuses on a Matter Type by Matter Type basis by navigating to the Options menu and desired matter type, then clicking on 'Status Types'.
From here you can name the status, and choose from the available status types.
Case Statuses can be used to filter reports, or filter your search criteria on the Find Screen
Also, from version 30 onwards you can use case statuses as ordering criteria for a Kanban view Find Screen layout (Kanban View is available if your Redbrick Business Consultant has set the correct option in the settings table - please speak to your firms Redbrick administrator if this option is not visible in the Find Icon dropdown.
