When creating a new (or editing an existing) Solicitor type party within Redbrick you have the option of doing a Solicitor Lookup in order to pre-populate the data for you. Please note that this information is obtained via a connection to the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) database and thus information returned by the Solicitor Lookup will be that which the SRA holds.
First, from the Other Parties / All Parties screen, click Add and select 'Solicitor'.
Once in the Select Solicitor window, click New
In the Edit Party window you will note that there is a 'Search' button underneath the party name. This button is not present for other party types, only Solicitor.
The Solicitor Search window will now open. From here you can search for solicitor details by either Name or SRA No. Click the Search button to open up the window, type in the Search Text if not already done so in the main window, and click Search again when ready. A minimum of three characters is required and the search will return any partial matches.
Note: If you have already added a name to the party record then this will autofill in the 'search text'. If you have added an SRA number already, you can select to Autofill the SRA No. before peforming your search in the Solicitor Search window - this can be a useful tool if you are checking existing Solicitor records where data was added manually.

Example SRA No search
Once you have found the solicitor firm you are looking for either double click on them or highlight and click Select. On doing so you will see the following message.
The Edit Party record will now have auto-populated with all available data from the SRA for the firm and / or branch you selected.
This handy tool will save you valuable time in data input at file opening stage.
Note: If you are missing data on the Address field (like County) or building names pull through from the SRA record in the first line of the address (for example), clicking on Address Lookup will enable you to reselect the correct company in the results displayed and then the details will be in the correct places - see below
