Linking Client Groups

Linking Client Groups

Sometimes if you have created two separate client records for the same client, for example, one with a partner and one without, you need to link them. Linking them allows the client to track their cases online under the same account, as well as your users in Redbrick being able to jump between "other matters for this client"

To begin, use the find screen to locate the oldest matter for the client. So if you are trying to associate client records on matters S962/7 and S962/8 you'll start with S962/7

Load the matter and then edit the client. Select the panel named 'Group'

Take a note of the Group ID(s) for each contact you would like to link.

Close that client record. And now find the most recent matter that you need to link it to. Load your recent matter and Edit the client and reselect Group.

Click "Move to a Different Group"

Either scroll down or manually type in the group ID. Highlight the relevant record.

And select this group

You'll be presented with a prompt that will allow you to update any other records you may require for that specific client if you would like to keep the two records "In Sync"
