Internal Notes

Internal Notes

There are two 'notes' columns in the Progress screen. Whilst both allow you to make notes against a task it is important to remember the distinction between a Note and an Internal Note.

Certain tasks on your Progress screen may be viewable by your client if they are using the Redbrick Portal. If so, they will also be able to see anything entered as a Note.

Whilst this can be useful information for them to see if there is any issue/holdup, there will be times when you want to leave a note for yourself (or perhaps a colleague) that you do not want to be visible to the client.

Therefore if you wish to keep your note private to just the file, then ensure you write it into the 'Internal Notes' column instead.

Notes
If the Internal Notes column is not visible you may need to turn it on via the Column Chooser tool.

Right click anywhere in the column header names and select the Column Chooser tool

You can either double click or click and drag Internal Notes from the options to add the column to your Progress screen,

You can now add client facing Notes and in firm only Internal Notes to a task.
