Matter Actions

Matter Actions

Matter Actions will need to be set up by your Redbrick Administrator (See separate guide on how to do this).  They are a quick way to do certain things from any screen without having to navigate to another page, or leave Redbrick completely.  An example of these could be navigating to a webpage, opening a file or attendance note or even sending your client a quick message via text.

Once set up, users will find them in the navigation ribbon, using the dropdown arrow next to the Matter Actions button which resembles a lightning bolt.  Clicking this black arrow will show you a list of all matter actions  that are available for the matter type you are in.  Note - if the symbol doesn't show in the ribbon, these means none have been set up for the matter type you are currently in - speak to your administrator if you have some suggestions they could add for you.

Select the relevant action you want to complete e.g. telephone note.  Once selected you will be taken to the relevant area, and you select as normal.   In the below example, the Telephone Note matter action has been selected and this then opens the New Document window with the Telephone Note already pre- selected as if you had accessed this directly from the Document Screen.

If you click on a weblink Matter Action it will take you straight to the relevant website.

Each different Action type will behave accordingly and you should be able to follow different types easily enough in the same way you would if you had done them in the usual way.
